St. Paul Lutheran Congregation History

October 1, 1871
St. Paul Lutheran was organized.
June 23, 1878 A new church was dedicated in the Siegel area of Douglas Township, Bremer County.
November 25, 1894 A new larger building was dedicated.
1912  The church was moved from the gravel road to Highway 63.
March 2, 1944 Women’s Missionary and Aid Society was organized now known as Women of LIFE.
1947  A windstorm blew down the tall steeple.
1971     A new entryway was added.
July 12, 1987 Congregation voted to withdraw from the merging church to become an independent Lutheran congregation.
October 11, 1990 Church building was destroyed by fire.
June 14, 1992 A new worship center was dedicated at 700 Fourth Street SW in Tripoli.
May 22, 2005 St. Paul Lutheran Congregation became a member of The American Association of Lutheran Churches (The AALC).
